Savannah Grace

Today was Savannah Grace's 9 month check up with Dr. Yukon. She had a finger prick when she first got there to check her iron(which was 38, whatever that means, i just know it was great). That wasn't bad for her and she seemed okay with it. We had her weighed and she was 21.9 lbs , 28.25 inches long and 17.5 inch head size. I am not sure how that equates out in percentile but I am pretty sure she is on the bigger side for weight, right at 50% for head and about 80 % for height. She is by no means a FAT baby. She is very solid. Anyway, Dr. Yukon gave us lots of new information for the coming months. He said we can start backing off of baby food. He also said we can quit the rice cereal because it is just a filler. WHOO HOOO! The best news was she can now eat table food with us. I take that back the best new was that we can start weaning her to cows milk in like two months! He said to start weaning between 11 and 12 months. He wants us to give her cheese and yogurt to start getting her belly ready for the cow's milk. NO eggs till after a year which is completely fine with me. So we are looking at about 8 more cans of formula to buy!! My bank account will love you. He also said she doesn't need the Vitamin D milk so we can just get her 2%. The little below average babies need that. She clearly is very healthy, no ear infections or even colds.  So we left there and had lunch with Daddy. Savannah Grace is taking a nice long nap while momma is typing this and working on bills.
