2 Babies under 2

I am excited that we are expecting number 2 in November. I am also very nervous about it because I will have two kids under the age of 2. We will find out what the baby is after June 15th. One of my best friends is making us our reveal cake. I am glad that she will know what we are having before we do...well as long as she doesn't squeal before:) We go to the doctor on the 15th which is my dad's birthday so it was kind of special. We are using this cake as his birthday cake. He will get to cut the cake. Everyone asks what we want and I have the same answer every time. I just want a healthy baby. We have it kind of good right now. If we get a boy that would be great because Brian would have a little buddy and we have two girls already. If we get a girl then we have some girl things we can use and some clothes MAY overlap. It is a win win for us in my opinion. We have some names picked out but I surely don't want to announce that yet. So..... see you around the 17th with the answer.

My Fish...

I can't believe how quickly the summer has come this year. I am not complaining by any means because I am so excited to spend it at home.  Savannah Grace has already started swimming in the pool. She is a fish! I am not kidding you either. If she could live in a pool she would. She jumps from the side, sticks her head in the water and goes all the way under. I am not sure how I will survive the summer with a fish. I am looking into getting her swim lessons. Well the rescue swimming for babies. It is like 10 minutes a day for 6 weeks so I need to sign up when we get back from the beach. Here are some pictures of Savannah.

Happy Birthday to Savannah!!

Well my baby is officially not a baby anymore. The doctor even told me that she is a big girl now not a baby! How sad is that!?!? But no worries she still needs her mommy, she is only 1! We had her party on April 9th. It was probably the hottest day of the year so far that day. It was beautiful though and Savannah had such a great time. We were so happy everyone could come and celebrate our little girl on her special day. Her real birthday was this past Thursday on the 14th but we wanted to do her party on the 9th. I thought it would be special since it was my brother's birthday! Speaking of Jeff, he is in Germany and we get to Skype and see him. I got to see him on his birthday so that was cool. I'll post some pictures of her party so you can see how much fun she had. There are lots! 

Oh we did paint the kitchen so you might see some color change.

My poor little buggy!!

So Savannah Grace has been sick on and off for about a week. She got croup somehow and is now on meds and she is much better!! She has been with my mom all week and tomorrow won't be any different. I hate when my baby doesn't feel good. This is the second time she has been remotely sick and I don't like it. She has been up every night at least 2 times for about a week. Brian and I are very tired. I started back after Spring Break to work and adjusting to waking up early is horrible. Savannah usually sleeps in now since she gets up a few times because she can't breathe. Hopefully we are on the way to getting better.

On a good note I have sent out Savannah's invitations and am excited for her party next month. I can't believe she will be one! Time flies so fast! We are having a Minnie Mouse party since she LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! I wanted to do giraffe but I want to do something she will love. She will show everyone her hot dog dance for sure. Her Auntie Morgan will be making her cake so it will be SO good!


Oh we got to talk to Jeff last weekend in Germany. We actually Skyped him so we could see him. It was great to see his apartment. He gave us a tour with the computer. I also loved when Savannah could see him on the TV. She loved it and kept smiling at him. I think she really like it because we put him on the big screen so it was like interactive Baby Einstein!

TEETH!! whooo hooo

Well we finally got our first teeth. We didn't get one tooth but we got two! They came out of nowhere and she wasn't cranky. She slept great all week before she got them. Oh she got them on Feb. 19th. I was feeding her breakfast and as I normally do I imagined I saw something poking out of her gums. As you can see I REALLY wanted her to have teeth. My mom, Brian and I had all dreamed she had teeth. Well this time I decided to watch her eat a little more and sure enough they were just popping through the gums. You would have thought I was pregnant and calling everyone I knew by how fast I jumped on the phone with everyone. I HAD to tell everyone about her teeth. She was 10 months and I was freaking out because she had not teeth but at 10 months and 5 days she got them. So now we are not worried about when we get our other teeth. She has at least two so I am satisfied. 


Savannah isn't walking yet but she can cruise along furniture like a champ. If you have a cell phone or remote she is like a dog looking for people food, she will be there in an instant. She also is a very fast crawler so I am thinking she doesn't feel the need to walk. I wouldn't mind if she took the time.


I am on spring break in one week. It can't come soon enough. I can't wait to spend time with her and hang out at the zoo. We have the zoo passes and we have already been twice this year. She LOVES going anywhere in her stroller. So I can foresee Paige and Carter (my friend and her son 2 months younger than savannah) spending time at the zoo all summer. I am hoping before it gets to hot! 


I don't think there is much else going on with us. I am sick of the SCS and MCS merger issue. I am also not happy about the recent teacher righst that Nashville is trying to banish. I won't bore you with that though. Savannah is down and out tonight because she didn't nap at all today!! She is going to be a character. I don't see her being shy with anyone. She loves to smile, laugh and play all the time. Anywho, I am tired so I am fixing to hit the hay too!!

Life and all it's challenges

Well it has been a while since I have been on here so I figured we would do a quick update.  Savannah Grace and I went to Nashville a couple weekends ago to meet the Brubaker side of the family. She got to meet her great grandparents, second cousins, my aunt, uncles and cousin. It was great to have the whole family together.  We even did a little house hunting, lol. Well I wouldn't say that but we got to know the area and looked at some real estate. My parents really like the area too because it is just a nice place to live. Anywho, it was a quick trip because we were back in one night. That was when Savannah decided not to sleep. It started that Saturday and for about a week she had rough nights were she was up and down 2 times. I thought for sure she would get teeth out of it. NOPE....I was wrong. We are still all gummy! However, she is catching up on her sleep at night now. She has been doing 11 hour nights lately and I love the sleep.


So there have been quite a few people asking me if we are going to try again soon for another baby. We found out last week that our friends who had a baby the same time we had Savannah are having another baby this August. We are super excited for them! We want another one and we want them close. I would prefer to have a baby at the end of the school year again so we aren't trying right now.  I am happy with my little peanut and blessed that we have such a great baby. I have friends who are trying and unable to get pregnant with their first child. If GOD only gives us the gift of one baby, I consider myself truely blessed. God gave us one blessing and I won't be selfish if a second is not in our future. I would rather have my friends get the gift of their first child then for me to have two children. I want them to be able to experience what we have with our daughter. I wish there was some way for me to cash in my baby card to someone else. Anyway, I hope all of my friends gets news that they are pregnant with a little blessing.


We also have started some GREAT financial decisions.  We are doing Dave Ramsey but modified. We have been doing our version since Jan 21 and it has been working out great. The only problem is the unknown expenses. I just found out we will need new tires for the Pilot probably by the summer. Not to mention our AC unit is pretty much done so we will need to drop about 4 grand on a new one. Yeah, that sucks but we are trying to work it into our current money system. Seriously, you would be amazed how aware you are when you spend from envelopes.  I am so much more aware of what we spend and I can see how much I have left for the week doing it that way.


The weather has turned beautiful!! We visited the zoo on Sunday and Savannah Grace had a great time! I am hoping to take her back again this Sunday as it is supposed to be 70 that day. We have a family pass to the zoo so we are using it as much as possible this year. I have a feeling our summer will consist of the pool at Mimi's house and trips to the zoo . Notice that both are free :)

Another Snow Day...

Well we are on number 3 for snow days this year!! We were out last week for two days! This week we had Monday off for MLK and we got out early yesterday day. Now we are off because of ice on the roads today. I could get used to 3 day weeks. I just feel like my kids are losing out because they are missing so much school and it is hard to keep them up and motivated when we keep getting out. We get down to business on the days we are there though!!


Enough about that!! I submitted a picture of Savannah Grace last week for the weather baby on Fox 13 Memphis. She was already featured on Fox 13 with me when I was interviewed back in Nov. for a question. Well she was on this morning!! The picture is a little hard to see but you can hear what they are saying. Just turn it up.
